Re-basing Napoleonics

13 Sep

Oh dear first money spent and inside 2 weeks as well! I just spent £6.85 on replacement bases for my Napoleonics. The spending comes under caveat no. 1 of The Pledge ‘Essential Consumables’. As I decided some time ago that my current basing scheme for Napoleonics was not appropriate for what I wanted to achieve I knew this was coming. Still I have ordered some very reasonably priced bases from www.warbases.co.uk so I do not feel too guilty (warbases are excellent by the way, highly recommended!).

I haven’t painted anything for this project for over a year but I am getting the buzz again. Below are a couple of (poor) photos illustrating how I have been painting them. The flags on the East Norfolk regiment have faded but are being replaced!

More on this project soon!

Your rebasing looks very nice. The laser cut bases really make a difference. I mate go back to my original battalions and do the same in time?

Hi Paul many thanks! I am actually taking them off these particular bases and rebasing them as multiple stands per unit so I can indicate formations and so forth. Hopefully I can get some done in the next week or so and I’ll do an update!

Ah interesting, I’ll keep a watch for the change.
